Get the support you need

Community Education Foundation help New Zealand Kids under five living in hardship to reach their full potential and provide the opportunities and resources to help children and families to get what they suppose to have in today's New Zealand modern societies.

We believe that with the right help, children change their lives and achieve their potential.

Our vision is that no children are disadvantaged by poverty.

Our services are:

HIPPY Programme

HIPPY is a home-based programme that supports parents to be involved in their children's learning. Children start HIPPY programmes when they are 3 and half to 4 and half years old and work with their parents for 15 minites a day, for 30 weeks of the year over two years.

The HIPPY programme includes 60 weekly workbooks with lesson plans, 18 storybooks and supporting materials and these activities are complemented by what children learn at their local early childhood education center, kohana reo or language nest.

Parents help their children to develop cognitive skills including language, problem solving, logical thinking, perceptual and other school readiness skills. All HIPPY activities can be linked to learning outcomes in the early childhood curriculum framework, Te Whaariki, or the New Zealand Curriculum Framework for primary schools.
